Tesla has announced that on September 15 — “Battery Day” — the company will reveal details about its “million mile” battery.  Two weeks ago, in an interview with Bloomberg, the Chairman of the Chinese company that will make the battery for Tesla, Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited or “CATL”  said they are ready to build the battery, which will last 16 years and has enough energy to run for 1.24 million miles.  They will build batteries for General Motors too, reportedly.  According to theStreet.com, Tesla also inked a deal to secure 6,000 tons a year of the rare-earth mineral cobalt, which is a key ingredient in the production of batteries.  Let’s go, and go, and go and go…!
