One Hollywood Thing: Award Shows Give A Bow To Sustainability With Plant-Based Dinners

Both the Golden Globe awards two weeks ago and the Screen Actors Guild Awards — which serve dinner to Hollywood A-list attendees — served plant-based dinners in a nod to climate change and sustainability.  The attendees at the Globes caught flak on Twitter for the disconnect between the carbon footprint of riding in hundreds of limos to get to the award show and the ceremonial food choice.  Nevertheless, the SAG awards followed the same recipe.  It all sounded pretty delicious to us!  At the Golden Globes, they dined on King Oyster Mushroom scallops and wild mushroom risotto with globe carrots and pea tendrils, while at the SAG awards, it was bean salad with fresh vegetables and a sweet onion vinaigrette and glazed baby carrots served over greens.
