DOE Research Shows Massive Benefits of Decarbonization

In 2017, the advanced research arm of the Energy Department (Advanced Research Project Agency of the Department of Energy or ARPA-e) hired the engineering firm Otherlab to review all available energy data sources and create an ultra-high resolution picture of the US energy economy. What they found, as described in a recent article by the lead engineer in Medium, is highly promising — contrary to popular belief, decarbonization is not an unattainable ideal.

Climate Change and GND Get Heated On the Hill

Forty-two members of the Sunshine Movement were arrested for unlawfully demonstrating in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office on Monday, where they were urging him to support the Green New Deal (GND).   Senator McConnell has refused to meet with the young protesters but has promised to bring the GND Resolution to a vote in the Senate as soon as later this week. The students came to Washington to present Senators with a petition of 100,000 signatures of GND supporters from around the country.
