As we wrote up top, today is Earth Day but we’re planning on making this an Earth Week. Here’s what should be on your radar this for the occasion:
- Parks: April 20-28th is National Park Week, a time to explore amazing places, discover stories of history and culture, help out, and find your park!
- Capitol Hill: Congress is still out of session but this Wednesday, April 24th, a panel of experts will hold a lunchtime briefing on climate restoration and carbon removal in the Cannon House Office Building. The event is open to the public so if you’re in DC, you might want to check it out.
- 2020: CNN is hosting back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back town halls tonight featuring US Sen. Amy Klobuchar at 7 ET; US Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 8 ET; US Sen. Bernie Sanders at 9 ET; US Sen. Kamala Harris at 10 ET; and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 11 ET.
- Media: If you’re up as this email is going out then tune into CBS This Morning which will feature reporting from every continent as part of the network’s special Earth Day coverage. The coverage will expand to all CBS News platforms, including the “CBS Evening News with Jeff Glor,” CBSN, the network’s 24/7 digital streaming news service, CBSNews.com and CBS News Radio.
ICYMI: Last Friday rapper and comedian Lil Dicky released a star-studded animated music video titled Earth Song featuring a who’s who of top artists like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Halsey, with proceeds from streams benefitting the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. FYI: the language may not be suitable for kids despite the cute animals!
